série de fotos aéreas exibidas exclusivamente na Old Truman Brewery. Essa mostra contempla o
próximo capítulo da série “Salt”, Useless Loop, capturando a justaposição natural
entre água e terra.
London photographer Tommy Clarke presents the ‘Up in the Air’
exhibition, a series of aerial photographs showcased exclusively at the Old
Truman Brewery. This exhibition presents the next instalment of the ‘Salt’
series, Useless Loop, capturing the natural juxtaposition between water and
land.
Clicada
durante sobrevoos dos lagos de sal de Utah, Califórnia e Austrália Ocidental, a
série “Salt” capta o momento único do ciclo de vida dos lagos de sal,
completamente não-retocadas. Os tons incríveis são o resultado dos vários graus
de salinidade encontrados em cada lago, muitas vezes resultando em
surpreendentes contrastes de cor.
Shot on location flying over the salt lakes of Utah, California and
Western Australia the Salt series captures a unique moment in the ever change
life cycle of salt lakes, completely un-retouched. The incredible hues are a
result of the varying degrees of salinity found in each individual lake, often
resulting in striking colour contrasts.

a deep admiration for abstract expressionist artists including Rothko and
Newman, became my inspiration for photographing the salt lakes. Shooting from a
door-
less helicopter or plane gives me a powerful and unique prospective,
which enables me to capture the complex and serial relationship between the

exposição “Up in the Air” também inclui uma retrospectiva com curadoria de
outras series de trabalhos do fotógrafo que contempla “Shark Bay”, “Antigua”,
“Shores” e “Industry”. A inspiração desses obras coletivas vem da infância de
Tommy, que ele passou surfando nas praias da Costa Sul. Sua afinidade com a
fina faixa de areia que separa a terra do mar foi o começo da sua carreira na fotografia
aérea.
The ‘Up in the Air’ exhibition also includes a curated retrospective of
Tommy’s other series works which includes ‘Shark Bay’, ‘Antigua’, ‘Shores’ and
‘Industry’. The inspiration for these collective works draws from Tommy’s
childhood which he spent surfing the beaches of the South Coast. His affinity
with the thin strip of sand that separates the land from the sea was the start
of his career into aerial photography.

Lane - Londres, no dia 14 de outubro e se estende até o dia 28 de outubro.
